Assalamualaikum and hello from Lenggong!
I have been a college student for almost two weeks already! Well, despite having to handwash all my clothes here, life is EXTREMELY good. I was a total nervous wreck on the first day here though ;-; Was hella worried that I would become a reserved potato (I mean come on, after 5 months of not socializing!).
But of course, everything turned out alright :) I have astoundingly funny roommates (Sarie, Humaira, and Fatin!!!), the best class I could ever ask for (eceh class B), and wonderful lecturers! Having less than fifty people in my cohort also makes it easy to get along with everyone :)
Life is not that busy YET, we only have a few tasks assigned for now. Oh and we have this really, really, enjoyable weekly task for English, which is... having to watch a movie and read a novel at least once, and write up about it! Pretty much like a review, of course. We were also told to publish this specific assignment via our own blogs. Therefore I will just use this personal blog for that purpose, eheh.
Since KKTM Lenggong specializes in herbs, gardening, and madu kelulut cultivation (I don't really know how to put this into words...), it has a huuuuuuuge landscape with farms and gardening plots (there's also a citrus farm here!). The first thought that went through my mind when we had our explorace around here was, mannn, I am soooo going to get fit here, what's with the walking and all xD I went to play badminton with Yasmin this evening, and God knows how tired I am right now because I have not played any sports for like what, an eternity? Hahah. But it felt good!!! I can see myself exercising for the next 8 months on a regular basis, and ending up with a clearer face and healthier body hehe :P Wishful thinking much, Effy?
So... yeah. Starting a new chapter of life, meeting new people, going through a completely different routine, everything can feel so alien at first. But when we are entering a new environment, it's not only about ENTERING it. What matters is that we are JOINING it. We are becoming a part of it, therefore just relax and enjoy! We run our own show, our own life. Make this new chapter colourful and exciting by making new friends and exploring new experiences together! And inshaaAllah, with the intention of creating friendships and studying lillahitaala, things will be so much bearable.
And now here are some new vocabs I would like to share :) I will try to use these words in my next post ^^
1. acclimatize (v) - to adjust or adapt to a new climate, place, or situation.
Example: It took Effy a few days to fully acclimatize with Lenggong's unpredictable weather.
2. listless (adj) - lacking energy or spirit.
Example: She had the flu, therefore she felt listless and worn-out.
3. apathetic (adj) - not having or showing much emotion or interest.
Example: He was apathetic towards that girl's taste in Japanese animation.
4. officious (adj) - used to describe an annoying person who tries to tell other people what to do in a way that is not wanted or needed.
Example: Jack is known for being officious since he always tell everyone else how to do their jobs.
5. noisome (adj) - very unpleasant or disgusting
Example: No one knew where that noisome odor came from.
That is all for now! Thanks for reading ^^ Oh and I am still working on improving my English, therefore I would very much appreciate it if you can help me correct my mistakes!
