Assalamualaikum and hi!
Today, Class B went through a TOEFL practice set just like the real test. It was my first time having to take a full reading, listening, speaking, and writing test from a computer for a duration of 4 hours and I have to say that the experience was... unsatisfying? Can't find the right word for it. But since it was my first attempt, I don't think I did well, especially in the speaking section ;-; I kind of stuttered a lot, and ran out of ideas pretty fast too. After completing the whole practice, I replayed my speaking test answer files and instantly felt like jumping off a building I don't know, reflect on my sins, I guess?
Don't even get me started about the writing section; most of us forgot to save our files before finishing the test, so we had to redo our essays :) :) :) Sitting in front of a computer for 4 hours and having to interact with just the computer can be pretty tiresome and boring too... I kind of lost focus during the fifth lecture in the listening test.
Still, despite all these minor problems(oh right my PC restarted itself when I was halfway through the reading section -_-'), today's practice test was a definitely valuable experience. At least now we can come up with proper preparation for the upcoming TOEFL practice tests, and of course, the real deal. I find the reading passages and lectures to be very informative too; for today, in a 4 hour test, I learnt a bit about drainage patterns, the Beowulf epic, how aboriginal people identify themselves, and much more.
I admit that I kind of messed up in the practice test just now. But it's okay, because this is only the beginning. Today is a lesson to be learnt, If I start from the bottom and learn my mistakes as I keep practicing, the progress will somehow motivate me to continue improving myself, right?
So that's it for today! And here are some Words of the Day~
